The plot is taken from the tragedy "Alcestis" by the ancient Greek poet Euripides. Famous French artist was born and lived in France. His works were repeatedly awarded by awards and medals. The artist worked in the genre of portraiture, but also painted pictures on historical and mythological subjects. Since 1888 L. E. Jardon was a regular Exhibitor of the Paris Salon. Participated in exhibitions of the Salon until 1905. Today the artist's works are kept in many museums and galleries, for example, in the Saratov art Museum (gallery Radishchev) presented his work "Yablochkin Physicist in his Paris lab."
